NOVEMBER 22–24!
Princess Amadine finds herself abandoned by her betrothed Segasto, facing a deadly bear all on her own — until the humble shepherd Mucedorus leaps to her rescue. In the adventures that follow, Segasto’s jealous plots, his servant Mouse’s antics, and wild man Bremo’s brutality all attempt to end the love story of the play’s two heroes. Amadine and Mucedorus must rely on their courage, cunning, and commitment to one another for a chance at their happily-ever-after.
Newly founded company AMP Theatre presents Amadine and Mucedorus in partnership with Acting Ensemble. This production is the first in AMP Theatre’s Adventure Series, showcasing tales of daring heroes and their hazardous exploits.
Amadine and Mucedorus dominated the imaginations of the play’s original audience, whose insatiable appetite for this story made it one of the most performed and printed plays of Elizabethan England. AMP Theatre brings this once-popular romantic comedy to today’s audience, and along with it, the best stage practices of the past: universal lighting to bring you into our world, a minimalist set to let your imagination play, and direct engagement between actors and audience so that, together, we build connection and community.
Join us for this tale of love, hijinks, and heroic fights against beasts and men!
