“Blue Sox”

Commissioned through a Heritage Support Grant provided by the Indiana Historical Society and made possible by Lilly Endowment. Written by Lucinda Moriarty and James Geisel. This multimedia production will be performed April 12 – 14 at the Acting Ensemble and April 20 and 21 at the History Museum..

The story: A celebration of the remarkable journey of the women’s professional baseball team in South Bend. This inspiring narrative follows the lives of the women who broke barriers and became legends in a sport that was predomintntly male-dominated. It’s a tribute to courage and determination of the women who played for the Blue Sox and made history. Through their journey, the play explores themes of perseverance, teamwork and the fight for equality, making it a powerful and relevant piece for today’s audiences.
