The Nance chronicles the lives of burlesque performers in the raucous

world of the1930’s during Mayor Fiorello H. La Guardia’s crusade to wipe out burlesque (accomplished in part by the persecution of gay people). This is the backstage story of Chauncey Miles and his fellow performers when it was easy to play gay and dangerous to be gay.
